About the Club

The Universities Women's Cricket Club was formed in 2004. It is a club dedicated solely to women’s cricket and is backed by both Sydney University and University of NSW, and is open to all players, whether you attend university or not.

The club currently has First, Second and Third grade teams,  all competing in the NSW Women's Premier Cricket Competition.

Our teams all train on the same evening with pre-season commencing in the Martin Lambert indoor nets under the TAG Grandstand at the No.2 Oval at the University of Sydney. Season training will be in the outdoor turf nets at No.2 Oval.

First Grade, Second Grade, and Brewer Shield play on Sundays, while Third Grade play on Saturdays. The matches are a mixture of Twenty20 and one day (50 over, 40 overs or 30 over) formats. Competition commencement will be advised as soon as available, COVID-19 may push the season start back a few weeks.

All coaches are accredited by Cricket Australia and the UWCC committee strive to offer an inclusive, family-friendly and supportive club to all our players.

Our club caters for beginners through to experienced players. We can provide communal equipment to any new players who may not have the necessary equipment to play (i.e. bat, helmet, pads, gloves, etc).

If cricket is your chosen sport or if you are looking to play cricket as a summer sport while still wanting to play other sports such as hockey, soccer, tennis, softball, etc in winter, you are always welcome and encouraged to contact us.
