About the Club

The Universities Women's Cricket Club was formed in 2004. It is a club dedicated solely to women’s cricket and is backed by both Sydney University and University of NSW, and is open to all women, whether you attend university or not.

The club currently has First, Second and Third grade teams, along with an U18s (Brewer Shield) team and U15s team which all competing in the Sydney Women's Grade Competition.


Our teams all train together with pre-season commencing on Wednesday 28th August 2019 5pm - 7.30pm in the Martin Lambert indoor nets under the TAG Grandstand at the No.2 Oval at the University of Sydney. Season training will be in the outdoor nets at No.2 Oval from 9 October 2019.

First Grade, Second Grade, Brewer Shield and U15s play on Sundays, while Third Grade play on Saturdays. The matches are a mixture of Twenty20 and one day (50 over, 40 overs or 30 over) formats. Third Grade games start on 12 October 2019, First and Second grades commence on Sunday 13 October and Brewer Shield commences Sunday 8 December. U15s will commence on Sunday 19 January 2020 (TBC by CNSW).


All coaches are accredited by Cricket Australia and are led by Level 2 Director of Cricket, Tim Carter. Overseeing a team of coaches Tim and the UWCC committee strive to offer an inclusive, family-friendly and supportive team to all our players.


Our club caters for beginners through to experienced players. We can provide communal equipment to any new players who may not have the necessary equipment to play (ie bat, helmet, pads, gloves, etc).

Universities Womens' Cricket Club seeks to attract women (whether you're a university student or not) to join the club. If cricket is your chosen sport or if you are looking to play cricket as a summer sport while still wanting to play other sports such as hockey, soccer, tennis, softball, etc in winter, you are always welcome and encouraged to contact us.
